About the Event
Covenant Ballet Theatre of Brooklyn invites your students to join our five-week Summer Intensive July 8 - August 9, 2024, for serious ballet students ages 10-20 years. Applications are required. Deadline to apply is February 1.
Located in historic Gravesend, Brooklyn, CBT is in a safe, established, and quiet neighborhood an hour’s train ride from Times Square, the ‘heart’ of New York City. Students will learn from CBT faculty and guest artists for a summer developing technique, artistry, character and life skills in an accepting yet rigorous environment.

Our program covers ballet and modern dance technique, conditioning, pointe, men’s work, repertoire, and electives such as jazz, composition, nutrition, hip-hop, injury prevention. The program is also available in two and three-week segments. The small class size ensures personal attention for every student.
Please see below information for information about our esteemed faculty and guest artists. Students who participate in the entire five-week program have the option to perform in local community performances. Information regarding local housing options is available upon request. Local students interested in becoming a host family please indicate so in the application.

COST:Â $2,500 tuition, five-week program
$1,750 tuition, three-week program
$1,200 tuition, two-week program
HOUSING: Recommendations available upon request. Local students interested in becoming a host family for an out-of-town student, please indicate so on the application and we will provide you with more information.

Ages 10-12**: 5:00-6:00pm* Studio AÂ *Students must check-in by 4:45pm **Age by date of audition
Ages 13-15**: 6:15-7:15pm* Studio AÂ *Students must check-in by 6:00pm **Age by date of audition
Ages 16-20**: 7:30-8:30pm* Studio AÂ *Students must check-in by 7:15pm **Age by date of audition

TO APPLY: All students are required to submit online application, headshot and 1st arabesque photo. Photos do not need to be professional. Â APPLICATIONS DUE BY FEBRUARY 1.

PHOTO REQUIREMENTS:
- Ages 10-12: Please upload a photo of you in 1st arabesque a terre (tendu) on flat.
- Ages 13-15: Please upload a photo of you in 1st arabesque en l'air (full height) on flat.
- Ages 16-20: Please upload a photo of you in 1st arabesque en l'air (full height) on pointe.
*CBT Academy students join us for a free photo shoot on Tuesday, January 16, 4:00-5:00pm in Studio B. RSVP required.
HOUSING:
- Hotel recommendation available upon request. Includes amenities, security and hot breakfast. Located in quiet, safe neighborhood of Sheepshead Bay, which is 3.9 miles from the studio (20 minutes by car or 40 minutes by bus). Group rate and extended stay rates available.
